Se2Si - Sequence to Signal Converter
Se2Si serves as an Insilico lab for Genomic Signal Processing. It’s main aim is to convert biological sequences to numerical signals. All the biological data are categorical data. Processing and analyzing these data is difficult. But if we convert these sequences to numerical signals, the processing becomes more easy. So to study more about the biological sequences, mapping to signals is very important. This tool is useful in
1. Mapping of biological sequences to numerical signals based on Distance based techniques like , Inter Nucleotide Distance, Bi Nucleotide Distance, Categorical Cumulative Periodogram, Position Count Function
2. Mapping of Biological sequences to numerical signals based on Parmeter Mapping, containing a set of physiochemical values like EIIP, Hydrophobicity, Volume etc. Parameters available for mapping include some predefined values
3. Performing Autocorrelation, Clustering, Filtering and various mathematical operations on the parameter mapped values to reveal more about the hidden information in the sequence.
4. Addition of new parameters is possible by specifying random values for the nucleotide symbols. There is provision for viewing and editing the entered parameter values and can also delete a user entered parameter
Se2Si is the first such tool to generate signals, by incorporating various methods. User can perform any wild operations on the signals to bring out the hidden information.
